Frequently asked questions
Answers to common questions about Australian visas and working with a registered migration agent.
What is a registered migration agent?
A registered migration agent is a professional authorised by the Office of the Migration Agents Registration Authority (OMARA) to provide Australian immigration assistance. Every registered agent holds a Migration Agents Registration Number (MARN) and must act in accordance with the Code of Conduct. Our principal, Farhad Hashemi, is a registered migration agent (MARN 1174781).
How do I verify your registration?
You can confirm our registration at any time by searching the official OMARA register of migration agents for MARN 1174781. We provide a direct link to the register in the site footer and on our About page.
Do I need a migration agent to apply for an Australian visa?
You are not required to use a migration agent — you can lodge many applications yourself through the Department of Home Affairs. However, Australia's migration law is complex and frequently changes. A registered migration agent can assess your eligibility, identify the most suitable pathway, prepare your application correctly and represent you in dealings with the Department.
Which visas can you help me with?
We advise across the major visa categories, including family migration (such as partner, parent and child visas), general skilled migration, employer nomination and the Skills in Demand visa, and business and investment visas. If you're unsure which pathway fits your circumstances, an initial assessment is the best place to start.
How long does a visa application take?
Processing times vary considerably depending on the visa subclass, your individual circumstances and current Department of Home Affairs workloads. During your assessment we explain the indicative timeframes that apply to your situation. We cannot control or guarantee Department processing times or outcomes.
How much does it cost?
Our professional fees depend on your visa category and the complexity of your case. After an initial assessment we provide a clear, written quote with no hidden costs. Separately, the Department of Home Affairs charges a government visa application fee, which is set by the Australian Government and is additional to our fees.
Can you guarantee my visa will be approved?
No registered migration agent can guarantee the outcome of a visa application — decisions are made solely by the Department of Home Affairs. What we can do is give you honest advice about your prospects, prepare a thorough and well-documented application, and represent you professionally throughout the process.
Can you help if I'm applying from outside Australia?
Yes. Immigration is a federal matter, so we assist clients located anywhere in Australia and overseas. Consultations can be conducted by phone, email or video call, and documents can be exchanged securely.
Is my information kept confidential?
Yes. We handle your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles, and in line with our obligations under the Code of Conduct for registered migration agents. Your details are used only to provide the immigration assistance you engage us for.
